The Ohio State Water Ski Team
Welcome!
The Ohio State University Waterski Team welcomes skiers of ALL ability levels! No try outs or experience necessary. We compete in traditional 3-event waterskiing: slalom, trick, and jump. So if you're looking to spend weekends in the sun, get out on the water, and make some great friends, come get involved!
Information
-
Practices: The team practices at White Sulfur, a ski lake about 35 minutes from campus complete with an official slalom course and jump. Ohio State is at the lake almost every day during the season, and skiers are free to attend as few or as many practices as they like.
-
Gear: Ohio State owns a trailer full of skis, vests, gloves, helmets, ropes, and handles -- everything you need to ski all 3 events! Team gear is available to all team members, so no personal equipment is required. We also own a 2011 Centurion Carbon Pro competition ski boat to practice behind.
-
Competitions: Ohio State competes in six tournaments, held almost every weekend from Labor Day to mid October. Skiers camp on-site to reduce cost, and carpools are arranged for both practices and tournaments. For each event, 5 men and 5 women compete as "A" Team skiers, but skiers outside the top 5 can still compete as "B" Team skiers with the same tournament-official boats, judges, and scoring.
-
Cost: Team dues are $250, which includes UNLIMITED practice sets behind the team boat, access to team gear and equipment, AWSA insurance (necessary to compete in tournaments), and membership to the social OSU Waterski and Wakeboard Club!
